CreateStudio Vs Doodly. Which One Should You Use?

Sharing is caring!

In this detailed Createstudio vs Doodly guide, we shall explore each software in detail to help you decide which to go for. We have attached a video that explains each and also as a bonus we explained how to make money using any of the animation software.

Be sure to check it out below.

What is CreateStudio?

CreateStudio is software for animation videos. It also creates 2D, 3D, Youtube, promotional videos allowing you to animate by adding animated text, emoji & other assets.

We have added a screenshot in the dashboard of the software below

It looks simple and the one thing that is likable about the software is your video is created as it moves up in order. Meaning your first timestamp or frame is down and the latest on top as you scroll vertically on right. As seen in the image above.

You can drag things around and drop them up or below.

What is Doodly?

Doodly is for making doodle videos which are hand draws objects and characters with text and explanations. These are very much common in educational channels.

The first feature that I would love to be present in Doodly is the ability to import your videos in the software which is currently lacking or unavailable..

The Characters can’t pick up actions and this means that you can animate the text on the screen beside the Doodling. Doodly is majorly built for Whiteboard animation but Createstudio over-delivers in my opinion

  5. Animate SVG’s
  6. Pixabay API to directly import into the project
  7. 40 done for templates

OTO 1 – All Access Pass $37/month

Createstudio has only one monthly subscription plan and it is slightly cheaper than that of Doodly by just $2 . Here are the features you get alongside this.

  1. Unlock 150 templates
  2. 40 Premium Characters (2D & 3D)
  3. 1000+ Other Animated Assets
  4. 30 New templates every month

OTO 2 – Pro Media Upgrade $97

This upgrade grants you access to the pixabay video API, pexels photos & video API.

Not only that you also get the Audio tab where you will find Music with Sound Fx files.

These sound Fx are unique sounds made to work alongside the actions the characters perform in your video but you can get them for free on sites like freesound.org which include walking, typing, etc to make videos more engaging. SO if you feel comfortable you can skip this.

OTO 3) Agency License $197

If you happen to get only the front end you get to use Createstudio on only two devices and two tabs only on one PC. But if you get this Agency license you get extra 6 licenses.

All this allows you to do is to type or connect the team’s email addresses inside your dashboard.

CreateStudio Credits

Now the price can range anywhere from $20-$100 depending on what you need.

Now not everyone can afford the All-access pass monthly payment but this gives you some leverage to buy any specific asset (character, template, scenes, FX sounds without paying a monthly payment.

Characters cost anywhere from 17-37 credits while the background is cheap at only 2 credits & the template is 17 credits and sometimes 20 credits. Now, this credit system may seem shady but it saves you in the long run as you only buy what you need.

Doodly Front End $67.

On the Front End, you are getting the following: Disclaimer what you get may vary at the time of purchase or time you are reading this.

  1. Create Unlimited Videos
  2. Use On Multiple Computers
  3. 803 Character images
  4. 1,157 Prop images
  5. 84 Scene Templates
  6. 100 Royalty-Free Music Tracks

OTO 1 – Enterprise Plan $97

  1. 3,596 Character images
  2. 3,000+ Prop images
  3. 150 Royalty-Free Music Tracks
  4. Everything in the front end version

There are other products you can grab but you can stay away from them as they are kinda not worth your investment if you are looking to save.

OTO 2 – Doodly Rainbow $67

This is just an add-on to make your video characters more sort of cartoonish.

Sample videos created in Createstudio.

Here is one of my videos that I created using Createstudio. Meaning it not only creates animation but also normal videos and the rending is smooth depending on your operating system and internet connection.

Final Verdict.

As a person who is passionate about video, I would advise you to never switch from Createstudio to Doodly. It is a pain when it comes to creating videos and there is no guarantee you will be in the mood to create whiteboard videos daily.

Now, on the other hand, I own a copy of Createstudio which makes my life awesome as a content creation because I create when I want and I have no pressure to keep up with my monthly payment of the software.

If you are creating for Youtube the Front end of Createstudio is more than enough to create whiteboard videos you crate in Doodly.

Create studio comes with TTS (text to Speech) which means you get to create a full video from the same software. The voices are not that human-like but if you are that lazy content creator like we all are then it’s okay.

We understand we have all been there.

I also offer my personal tutorial and walkthrough on how to use the software it is that easy…
